Target Stores’ Take Charge of Education (TCOE) initiative awards $1 million in staffdevelopment scholarships for teachers, plus another $2 million in college scholarships for high school seniors. Just enroll your school for free in TCOE. K–12 administrators, teachers or staff working 20 hours per week are eligible for $500 Teacher Scholarships, locally awarded by local stores. For Target’s All-Around Scholarships, well-rounded students with community
service, not test scores, are the priority. Two awards of $1,000 each are granted by every store, plus five national winners receive $10,000 each to attend a college, university or vocationaltechnical
school. School leaders should call to get their campus added to those receiving School Fundraising donations from the 1% designated by credit-card customers. Get rules and applications from stores, Target’s Web site or by phone. Contact: Target, Scholarships, (800) 537-4180; or Take Charge of Education and Fundraising (TCOE), (800) 316-6142.
