The program is designed to recognize scholastic achievement in Utah public high schools. Students in the Washington County School District will work with the designated Sterling Scholar Coordinator to participate in the the application process.

The Washington County School District Foundation plays a vital role in funding this prestigious scholarship program. REFERENCE and INFORMATION

SS Logo 2012

The Deseret News and KSL Television developed the Sterling Scholar program especially to focus attention on outstanding seniors in order to recognize them publicly as well as award cash scholarship and tuition waivers from participating institutions.  The sponsors salute the extraordinary development of the talents and ideals of each year's outstanding scholars.  The Southwest Region Sterling Scholar program tries to emulate the Deseret News guidelines but some exceptions are made because of the rural areas that it serves.

All questions regarding the Sterling Scholar program must be directed to the school or district coordinator and not the Deseret News or KSL Television.  Failure to comply with this rule may result in disqualification of the nominee.
