Alexander Hamilton Citizenship Achievement Award
this is an important National Youth Leadership Recognition program for high school juniors. Top winners receive a $500 cash scholarship. Winners will be enrolled in the Hamilton Leaders Academy which is a fully-paid leadership program that includes training in Seattle in 2011 and in Guatemala in 2012. The organization helps winners find scholarships, prepare college essays, develop goal setting techniques and strategies, thinking skills and enhance their awarenss of Hamilton's role in our nation's founding. To be eligible for the award the candidate must have performed his or her leadership and service activities on or after September 1, 2008 and currently have junior (eleventh grade) standing in an accredited K-12 program in the United States. A school official must verify student standing and school accreditation.

This is a group of Utah civic, religious, and business leaders committed to strengthening and unifying our communities. The Alliance awards up to thirty scholarships of $2,000 each to worthy graduating seniors in Utah high schools who otherwise would be unable to obtain a desired post-secondary education. Criteria for application includes: Parents income must match what qualifies for free or reduced lunch in Utah high schools, the student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, status as a graduating Utah high school senior who has been accepted for post-secondary education, consistent after-school work history, provide evidence of good citizenship and promotion of the values of unity, civility and respect for others as expressed in the Alliance's mission statement.

No personal or identifying information may appear on the essay itself.

BYU Management Society
This scholarship program is available to student pursuing post-secondary education at either Dixie State College or any of the BYU affiliated universities (BYU-Provo, BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii) Preference will be given to students pursuing business related education. Four (4) scholarships of $750 each will be awarded to graduating high school seniors from the Washington County School District. Two (2) scholarship of $500 award to students from Washington County who are enrolled as a Junior or Senior at Dixie State College and are currently accepted to the Dixie State College Business Program. Two (2) scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded to students from Washington County who are enrolled as a Junir, Senior, or Graduate Student in the BYU Marriott School of Management or equivalent acceptance at BYU-Idaho or BYU-hawaii.

Change My World 2009
Cruise & Travel Masters and Salt Lake YMCA Camp Roger are proud to sponsor the 2009 "Change My World" Essay Contest. This essay contest is a great opportunity for students to participate and share their innovative ideas and imaginations while helping to support a great cause. Proceeds will benefit YMCA Camp Roger and the Utah Food Bank. Each student who enters will be eligible to win a seven (7) day family vacation to Disneyland Resort, California, or one week scholarship and transportation to YMCA Camp Roger near Kamas, Utah; or a $100-$500 gift certificate to Dicks Sporting Goods. High School students may also have the chance to win a college scholarship or choose between the Disneyland Trip or a $4,000 Scholarship. All high school student winners grades 10 through 12 may choose scholarships in lieu of prizes for first and second place. Each school that has a student winning a First Place essay award will receive $2,500 to spend as your school or ogranization chooses; Five schools or eligible to receive the $2,500. There are five (5) age group categories, each category will be awarded a first, second and third place award. This scholarship is sponsored by Mountain West Center for Regional Studies. This is for students enrolling at Utah State University. The scholarship awards $1000-$1500 each semester for two semesters and is available to graduating high school seniors showing talent and potential for continued leadership. The Student must be a US citizen and provide a summary of academic recognitions, leadership involvement, community service and any other information they feel would be helpful to the scholarship committee.

This is for a high school student who is involved with a golf program and plans to attend Dixie College. There is no age or gender restrictions. The City of St. George and the St. George Marathon continues its student exchange experience with the Ibigawa Japan Marathon and Ibigawa's Middle Schools. Now in its' thirty-fifth year, the St. George Marathon selects 6 male and 6 female (9th Grade students to be a part of its delegation to Ibigawa, Japan in November Student delegates will be selected after a review of wirtten essays submitted by interested students. Essays will be used to discover each student's perspective of the following three points.
- How an educational and cultural exchange experience with a Japanese host family and simila- age students in Ibigawa, Japan might affect their life.
- The possibility of sharing one's own culture and way of life with others.

JumpStart Financial Literacy Scholarships
The Utah Jump$tartcoalition/UHEAA Scholarship has been designed to reward the achievement of Utah youth in regards to financial literacy. These organizations will award firve $1000 scholarship to eligibile Utah students who demonstrate their knowlege of financial literacy and preparation for post-secondary education. Applicants must be a Utah high school senior at an accredited Utah school who have successfully completed or are currently enrolled in the financial literacy course required for graduation. Students must be planning to pursue post-secondary education.

Two scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors entering a college/university in the the United States. The scholarships will be awarded based solely on essay entries - not academic standing. The recipients of the scholarships will receive (1st Place) $1000, (2nd Place) $500 to cover college incidentals. The check will be made out to the ward recipients, not the school. Applying students must be a US citizen, current high school senior planning to attend a college/university in the fall and provide an essay of 1500 to 3000 words on the prescribed topic.

Sophia L. Gokey Scholarship Award
Sophia's Heart Foundation would like to honor those who have persevered through a significant roadblock, setback or challenge. This organization is looking for students that, in spite of their circumstances, have shown that they were committed to their dream, still attended and excelled in school and also chose to get involved in making their communities better. Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1000. Susan M. Hamos Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is sponsored by the Women's Leadership Group of the Salt Lake office of MWH which is an environmental engineering consulting firm. This scholarship is for a college-bound woman. The amount of the scholarship is $500 awarded directly to the graduating girl with high academic potential, a sincere desire to complete a college curriculum and who has financial need. The female student must be recommended by the school's career advisor or counselor. The student must submit an application and required 350 word essay.

UHEAA Utah High School Film Festival
This category focuses on the importance of financial literacy or the value of a post-secondary education (any education beyond high school). Entries can be either live-action or animation. Scholarships will be award for first place ($4000), second place ($2500), and third place ($1500), catch-all ($1000) and a "most popular" category ($1000) determined by unique comments on UHEAA's Facebook page. There is no limit to the number of entries a school can submit, however, there can be only one producer per entry. The American Legion Utah Boys State
Boys State is scheduled for June 8 through June 12, 2009 at Weber State University in Ogden. Only boys who have successfully completed their junior year in high school and plan to attend school next year as a senior are eligible to attend. Students interested in Political Science, music and sports are encouraged to apply. A Samsung/American Legion scholarship is available to boys interested and eligible. Student may also apply for university and privately funded scholarships. Last year's scholarships were awarded to 35 students for a total of $153,403.00. Tuition cost for this year's Boys' State is $375.00 which includes 3 semester hours of lower division political sciences credit.

Utah Multimedia Arts Festival
The Farm to Fork Video Contest for all Utah High School Students - The Farm to Fork Film Category is a video competition that hopes to broaden student awareness of Utah's local cheese industry and science connected to cheese. The video must include a science, technology, engineering or mathematics component to how Utah cheese gets from Farm to Fork. Each video will be avaluated based on its quality research and ability to connect the Farm to Fork idea, creativity and educational value for a Utah audience. Teams must have at least two members but not more than three. General contest guidelines for each of the events are availabe on the website. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $300 cash prize, 2nd Place will receive a $150 cash prize and 3rd Place will receive a $50 cash prize. In addition, all winners will receive prizes from Utah Cheese Sponsors.

This organization will award six (6) $2000.00 Ream's Food Stores Scholarships to graduating seniors of Utah Schools. This scholarship is for high school seniors who have ever attended Washington Elementary School in Washington, Utah. Two seniors will be chosen to receive a $500 scholarship to be used towards their college education. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Scholarship winners will be selected by a committee of 5th Grade students. Applicants must provide a cover sheet with photo, name, parents names, address, phone number, years attended at Washington Elementary, personal accomplishments, extra-curricular actiities, college plans and future goals, two (2) letters of recommendation, high school transcript and essay submission (one page - typed).
