AmeriTech College - $1000 tuition waver scholarship.

One student from each high school will be selected. A nomination page must be submitted by a school counselor. Each student must write a letter explainingwhy he/she wants a career in the health-care field, fill out an application, submit a resume listing leadership, academic, and citizenship experience.

Applications need to be postmarked before the 2nd week in May.

Be Brilliant! Video Contest (update March 2012)

The Utah School Counselor Association wants to know how your school counselor (past/present) has helped you "Be Brilliant".  This contest is open to all Utah students in high school and middle school.  Student will create a YouTube.com account, creat a "Be Brilliant" video and post it to You Tube.com.  1st Place: $250; 2nd Place $150; 3rd Place $100.  Each individual appearing in the Video, or thier parent/guardian if under 18 years of age, must sign a waiver included in the entry packet. 
 
Video submissions must be submitted and approved before the first day of May

Dovie Juanita Miles Goodwin African/American Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Ogden Alumnae Chapter. The scholarship is for $1,000. The applicant must be a high school graduate of the application year, be an African/American male or female. The application must include a 500-word essay. The scholarship will be awarded upon confirmation of registration to the college or university and may be used for tuition and/or other school expenses.

Healthy Lifestyles Scholarship - $5,000 (update 1/2012)

Student must be a senior in high school or under the age of 25 by the end of May.  Application can be found on the web-site.
 

National Academy of American Scholars NAAS (update February 2012)

Students may go to this web-site to find links for information about award, grants, loans, contests, and scholarships for all students, including ethnic-based awards for minorities.   One annual four-year award of the following will be awarded:  $3,000; $5,000; $10,000; $15,000; $25,000.  There will be ten (10) finalists award of $250.  The criteria to apply for this scholarship is:
  • Must be enrolled in public, private, charter or parochial secondary school as a high school senior.
  • GPA of a "C" or higher
  • Must use funds for an education, humanitarian, scientific and/or theological-based endeavor.
  • Must excel in character, integrity, leadership and demonstrate an ability to follow written instructions. 

The application deadline is before the first day of May (Applications may be submitted beginning in September)


Paul Mitchell Schools Scholarship Program (update May 2012)

http://www.stgeorge.paulmitchell.eduThe purpose of the Paul Mitchell Schools Scholarship program is to assist prospective students dedicated to academic excellence and charitable service to finance a portion of their education.  The applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, at least seventeen (17) years old, with a high school diploma or upcoming high school graduation in the the year prior to the chosen enrollment date.  Applicants must submit a sealed copy of their high school or postsecondary school transcripts with a minimum 2.0 GPA  transcripts must include an imprinted school seal and/or signature of an authorized school official.  Scholarship recipients must maintain grades of 90% in theory, 90% in practical, and 90% attendance throughout each Satisfactory Academic Progress period and maintain full compliance with Paul Mitchell Schools' rules and regulations.  Six (6) scholarship in the amount of $2,000 will be awarded.  Each applicant must submit a 500 word, typed essay (double-spaced and single-sided) answering the questions on the application.  Applicants must provide completed application form, Two (2) letters of recommendation, Typewritten scholarship essay and sealed high school or postsecondary transcript with minimum 2.0 GPA

SkyWest Airlines offers scholarships to employees and eligible dependents (employee's spouse/domestic partner and children under age 23).  Applicants may apply for more than one scholarship, but only one completed application is required.  Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing collegiate level education at an accredited institution.

University of Utah - University Neighborhood Partners (UNP) (update Feb 2012)

 
Three scholarship of up to $3,000 each will be awarded and may be used for educational expenses, e.g. tuition, fees, books, and/or supplies.  Those eligible to apply for a scholarship are high school seniors and freshmen undergraduate students.  Student are required by state law to certify that they are eligible to receive a scholarship as a U.S. citizen or a citizen of another country who is lawfully present in the U.S.  Student must show current and previous involvement in the University Neighborhood Partners and commitment to the goals of the organization; student must display the way in which this support will help to realize potential for future success and a statement of financial need.  Student must provide documentation of acceptance to the post-secondary program of their choice; meet with UNP's Academic Consultant each semester and provide a copy of their unofficial transcript or other documentation showing progress in the selected program, actively participate in UNP Student Persistence Partnership and attend a minimum of one meeting per semester.  The partnership is a student support system which acts as a liaison to help students access available institutional resources and participate in an exit interview at the end of the school year.

Utah State University Aftrican-American leadership Award

This is a $500 scholarship to be paid toward tuition at Utah State Univeristy. Graduating high school sneiors must provide documentation of academic recognitions, leadership involvement in both in thier high schools and community and show special talent and potential for continued leadership. The African-American student must be a US citizen and a Utah resident.

Utah Trappers Association Scholarship

Each year the Utah Trappers Association selects two outstanding high school seniors that exemplify belief in conservation and the love of the outdoors. This is a $1000.00 scholarship. Qualificiations for the scholarship are: High school senior and resident of Utah with intent to enroll in a Fall 2009 college program, submission of original essay, GPA of 3.0 or higher, submission of transcript and application.

 Vancouver Restaurant Scholarship - $500 (Update 1/2012)

Students must be full-time and between the ages of 15-21 before the last week of May.  The student must answer the essay questions found on the application page.


Youth Automobile Safety Scholarship Program (update February 2012)


This is an essay competition for high school seniors who are children of full-time or retired public employees.  Scholarsh will be awards from $250 to $1,500 based on the merit of student essays that propose ways to reduce the accident rate among teenagers.  Student apply on-line
