180 Medical Scholarship Program - (update 1/2012)

Applicants must be under a physician's care for spina bifida, a spinal cord injury or transverse myelitis.  High school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores, or juniors who meet this criteria and who plan to attend college in the Fall for at least 12 credit hours may apply for this scholarship opportunity.  Three (3) $1000 college scholarships will be awarded.

Big Dig Scholarship - $3,000 (update 1/2012)

Student must submit an essay that is under 1000 words before the first of June.  Student must be currently in Grade and 12 and entering the first year of college/university in the fall. 

Great Clips Cosmetology School Scholarship

Utah franchise's and Great Clips, Inc. are sponsoring one $500 scholarship for individuals interested in pursuing a career in cosmetology or barbering. This scholarship can be used at any accredited cosmetology or barbering school in the state of Utah. The student must submit a one-page essay describing why cosmetology is an interest to him/her.

The application deadline is before the 1st of June.

JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores

Students have the opportunty to win up to $50,000 cash for college through JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores Own Your Look Prom Contest. Ten students will receive cash and prizes. Applicants must make their own prom outfit, including an accessory, with fabric and other products from JoAnn stores. It is open to students ages 14 through 19 in every state except maryland and Vermont. Winning entries will be chosen based on workmanship, originality and level of detail. Man Mac Automatic Transmission Scholarship - $500 (update 1/2012)

Student must be enrolled or expect to be enrolled in an undergraduate program in the fall.  The school must be located in Canada or in the United States. 

Multicultural Scholarship - Dixie State College (update 1/2012)

Students must be enrolled full time (minimum of 12 credits) and an undergraduate student at Dixie State College.  Other Requirements as follows:  Must be a U.S. citizen and Legal Resident of Utah; Must exemplify a multicultural/diverse background; must have a minimum 2.0 GPA; Must complete the Financial Aid (FAFSA) form (https://fafsa.ed.gov) and attach a copy of the Dixie State College Financial Aid Award from Dixie State College Banner Account; Must provide a transcript reflecting current GPA; Complete the essay requirement.
Application submitted before the last week of June will be given priority.

RMGA Scholarships - Rocky Mountain Gas Association

This scholarship offering is for one (1) $4000 four-year scholarship and two $2000 four-year scholarships to individuals interested in attending a vocational program in HVAC at a Community or Applied Technology College. The Scholarship offers an Apprenticeship program and Tuition Reimbursement.

St. George Lions Club

The St. George Lions Club will be granting four scholarships for the 2009-2010 School Year to high school seniors planning to attend Dixie State College. Each student will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship to be split between the first and second semester of their freshman year. The scholarship will be awarded the first of July. Criteria for the application includes: Must plan on enrolling at Dixie State College, include a short autobiography regarding accomplishments, extra-curricular activities, volunteer work, plans and goals for college and financial need, include a copy of transcript.

University of Utah Salt Lake CAP Head Start Scholarship

The Salt Lake CAP Head Start Scholarship Fund provides one two-year $6000.00 scholarship to a student who has participated in a Salt Lake or Tooele County Salt Lake Head Start Program as a child. The Scholarship also includes a $3,000 housing stipend for the first year of the scholarship award. Eligibility criteria include 1)Have participated in a Salt lake or Tooele County Salt Lake CAP Head Start program as a child 2) Be admissible to the University of Utah 3) Enroll lfull-time (12 or more credits) during the next academic year 4) Demonstrate academic promise, leadership potentila, and a commitment to commmunity service 5) Demonstrate financial need (i.e. eligibility to receive federal Pell Grants) 6) Be willing to live on campus in their first year 7) Student must apply for federal financial aid online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ or call Financial Aid Office at (801) 581-6211

 ZIONS PAY$ FOR A'S  (update February 2012)

Utah and Idaho students in grades 7-12 (ages 13-18) can earn $1 per "A" on their report card.  Plus, for each "A" students are automatically entered into annual drawings to win one of 152 scholarship savings accounts, ranging from $100 to $1,000.  Students do not need to be Zions Bank clients to get paid for A's.   Students simply take their most recent quarter or trimester-end report cards from the current academic year into any Zions Bank location.  Branch employees will simply fill out the online form for each student to enter them into the drawings.  Students receive $1 per "A" directly deposited into their Teengreen Savings accounts or 50 cents per "A" if they opt for cash instead. 
Report Card Submission Deadlines:
  • Fall - First week of November
  • Winter - First week of February
  • Spring - Before the last week of March
  • Year-End:  By the first week in July
  • Winners of drawings will be announced in October
