Graduating seniors are encouraged to apply for seasonal summer employment. The Powell Ranger District is headquartered in Panguitch, Utah. The District employs approximately 20 permanent employees and between 20 and 30 temporary employees. There are 5O employees stationed in the office as well, three (3) permanent and one to two (1 to 2) temporary (Panguitch Engineers). The District encompasses the Mount Dutton, Red Canyon, and Paunsaugunt Plateau areas. Elevations vary between 6,200 feet near Otter Creek State Park to 11,041 feet on Mount Dutton.
