Technology Professional Development

The WCSD Technology Department provides many different kinds of training for teachers, staff and administrators. Every summer the months of June and July are almost completely scheduled with training events; most of those events take place in the Technology Training Center which is across 1st East from Dixie Middle School. Most of the training is done through two-day course offerings where credit for professional development training at the 5000 level is available through SUU.

The WCSD Technology Department also offers the course work so that educators can complete the Educational Technology Endorsement Program (ETEP). An ETEP cohort of teachers is formed at the beginning of the school year, and those teachers accepted into the cohort take classes throughout the school year, one night a week, to earn credit towards the Educational Technology Endorsement. The Washington County School District is the only school district to offer this program. Otherwise the ETEP is earned through courses taken through the state Universities.

Most importantly, WCSD Technology offers just-in-time on-site training to any teacher, PLC, or school that requests the training. WCSD technology is prepared to offer 45 minute training sessions on most of the technologies and software available through the district. This includes training on interactive white boards, instant response systems, PowerTeacher, PowerSchool, UTIPS and other district provided software.

To request training use the "Training Request" link in the box to the right or send an email or call the WCSD Technology Office
