Sunrise Ridge STEAM Students Help Students With Disabilites
Students who excel in science, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) at Sunrise Ridge Intermediate School have been named the Utah state winner in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Contest.
The program encourages teachers and students to solve real-world issues in their community using classroom skills.
The school won a $25,000 Samsung Grant, and are now eligible for a chance to become one of 10 national finalists.
The STEAM students put their skills to work by designing and building furniture and adaptive devices for children with disabilities. They will make a video of their projects for future contest stages. But, what is more important is the relationships they are building with the children they are helping.
