New Principal - Snow Canyon High

The District is pleased to announce the selection and transfer of Kim Monkres, current principal of Desert Hills Middle School, as the new principal of Snow Canyon High School.  Kim will replace Warren Brooks who will transfer as the Principal of Dixie High School when Sharla Campbell retires on June 30, 2020. 
Kim Monkres grew up in Roy, Utah graduating from Roy High School. She went on to graduate from Weber State University with a teaching degree in English and Communications/Journalism, and she later received her Master's Degree from Southern Utah University. Kim taught and coached at Bonneville High School for nine years before moving to Saint George. She taught Language Arts at Fossil Ridge, served as an assistant principal at Hurricane High School and then assistant principal/ athletic director at Desert Hills High School. Kim worked for the UHSAA as an Assistant Director before returning to Saint George as an assistant principal at Pine View Middle School. Currently, she is the principal of Desert Hills Middle School. She and her husband, Blaine, have a blended family with 5 children.  If she has any free time, you may find her at an athletic event, attending a concert or traveling. Although she will miss the wonderful people at DHMS, she is looking forward to a new opportunity to work with the wonderful people at Snow Canyon High School.
