We are pleased to announce the selection of Dustin Drake who will become the new Assistant Principal of Dixie Middle School on July 1, 2020.

Dixie State College and Southern Utah University, with an English major and Spanish minor.

Dustin began his teaching career at Dixie Middle School in 2007.  While teaching there, he earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University. He later transferred to Pine View Middle School where he taught Spanish, English, and ESL for four years.  He has spent the last five years at Dixie High School teaching English and coaching the debate and golf teams. For the past two years, Dustin has also served as a Learning Coach.

After completing his Master's Degree, Dustin continued his education and earned his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction through Utah State University in 2017. In addition to teaching for WCSD, he has loved preparing future educators by teaching in the education department at Dixie State University as an adjunct professor.

Dustin and his wife, Angie, are the parents of Jacob (12), Brynnlee (10), Easton (6), and Levi (2).

Although he will greatly miss the staff at Dixie High School, Dustin is excited to return to Dixie Middle School and serve in this capacity.
Please join us in congratulating Dustin.
