Washington County School District offers many events and expericences to help your student enrich his/her learning. Not all schools participate in every event; contact your school for information about events offered there and contacts for those events. You may contact the district event coordinators listed on the fliers below for more information as well.
Storytelling Festival
Each year students in grades 3-5 sharpen their skills and perform their favorite stories in front of a live audience. The district event will be held in November at Millcreek High School. Geography Challenge
Students in grades 4-6 compete in this challenging "Geo Bee." Link to previous year's questions. The district event will be held February 22nd at Tonaquint Intermediate School. Science Olympiad
Teamwork is a required skill in most scientific careers today, and Science Olympiad encourages group learning by designing events that forge alliances. History Day
History Day creates an understanding and appreciation of history while developing necessary 21st-century skills. Students in grades 4-12 are encouraged to participate. Elementary Science and Engineering Fair
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to investigate, explore, and explain in the annual science fair. The fair is held in May at DSU. Please contact Jessica Jones for details.
